How do I handle my mistletoe when it arrives?
To ensure your mistletoe looks its best, particularly if it is for a specific event, we recommend storing it outside (but covered over to stop the birds eating the berries!) or in a unheated outbuilding such as a garage or shed.
Another useful tip is to keep the branches as in tact as possible rather than splitting them down into small sprigs as the sprigs dry out much quicker than a large branch.
It is not uncommon for some of the Mistletoe berries to fall off during transit. These should be thrown away to avoid them being crushed and the sticky substance inside the berries spreading.
Fresh mistletoe will keep for up to 4 weeks in a cool area or outside. Indoors (in a heated environment) mistletoe will last between 1- 2 weeks at room temperature.
Do I need to put the mistletoe in water?
No. It is not necessary to put the mistletoe in water however keeping it damp can help to make it last longer
